Applications are open for an agricultural scholarship program in southern Alberta.
The Agri-Food Futures Scholarship Program is a partnership between the SouthGrow Regional Initiative, MNP LLP, Ridge Utilities, and Community Futures Lethbridge Region.
It will be awarded to three students at Lethbridge College, the University of Lethbridge, and Red Crow College who are pursuing a career in the agri-food industry in southern Alberta.
Each scholarship is worth $2,500. The scholarship program was established in 2019 by the Board of Directors of the SouthGrow Regional Initiative.
In a news release, Board Chair Jim Willet said, “We strongly encourage all eligible students enrolled in agriculture or ag-tech programs at Lethbridge College, the University of Lethbridge, or Red Crow College to seize this remarkable opportunity and apply for the Agri-Food Futures Scholarship Program.”
Willet added, “This program not only provides financial support but also serves as a launching pad for students to make a positive and lasting impact on the agri-food industry across southern Alberta.”
Applications are open until August 31st, 2023. Interested individuals can submit their applications electronically to peter.casurella@southgrow.com. More details, including full eligibility criteria and documents needed for the application process, are available from SouthGrow Regional Initiative.
