SouthGrow Regional Initiative acts as a unified voice on economic development issues and undertakes projects to enhance south central Alberta’s sustainable growth and long-term viability.

The SouthGrow region consists of 26 south central communities including the Blood Tribe, with a combined population of 131,600 (Statistics Canada, Alberta Municipal Affairs, 2004).

The average age of a person residing in the SouthGrow region is 34.9 years old (2004).

Amongst 14 North American jurisdictions studied in a 2004 MMK Consulting Study, Lethbridge ranked in the top four for low annual personal cost of living.
