Living in SouthGrow

SouthGrow's distinct landscape includes dramatic mountain views, meandering rivers, undulating coulees, and rolling prairies. The region includes three of the Province's seven main water systems: The Oldman River Sub Basin, South Saskatchewan River Sub Basin, and the Milk River Basin, allowing for an intricate irrigation infrastructure as well as safe drinking water for Albertans. Agricultural production is prominent and diverse and ranges from market gardens, dry land and irrigated farmland to livestock operations and ranching. The diversity of the region is heightened with the juxtaposition of oil and gas development, wind power, mining, service industry, recreation and tourism long side the agricultural processing.
