SouthGrow Regional Initiative is looking for proposals for an “On Farm Energy Management” Outreach Officer.  This contracted person will be responsible for presentations, consultations, and other extension work to promote On Farm Energy Management techniques.  He/She will also be expected to acquire a working knowledge of the Growing Forward 2 programs as available through Alberta Agriculture and Forestry.  The successful candidate will travel extensively in Southern Alberta setting up and making presentations on energy savings ideas and equipment for the farm.  This pro

The Southern Alberta Energy from Waste Association or SAEWA held in AGM on June 10, 2016 in Champion.  HDR Engineering presented the members presents an update on the detailed business plan.  SAEWA is committed to moving forward with selecting an optimum site for operations.

Southern Alberta is Ready for Increased Chinese Investment

Regional Partnership matches investment opportunities, products and services with investors and buyers during October international trade delegation visit

A consortium of southern Alberta economic development organizations -- representing more than 40 municipalities and hundreds of businesses -- is inviting a group of Chinese business owners and investors to the region in the fall to develop trade relationships.

SouthGrow's Annual General Meeting took place on May 26th 2016 at the Lethbridge Lodge. The 24 members passed a new Operations Plan and Budget and were enlightened about Economic Development & Trade priorities from Tom Mansfield, Executive Director, Entrepreneurship & Regional Development Branch.  Management Board elections were held and the slate elected did not change.  

 

SouthGrow Regional Initiative recognized worthy businesses and collaborative efforts on a special event held on April 14 at the Lethbridge Lodge.  Winners in the business category were Intercontinental Truck Body of Coaldale and Sandstone Motel Restaurant & Gas Plus of Milk River.  In the Innovation category, the winners were Vulcan Television Network and Vulcan Business Development Society.
