SouthGrow Regional Initiative is a member-driven, non-profit regional economic development alliance for south central Alberta. As chair, I am proud of the past accomplishments that the organization has achieved and I look forward to its future successes that will keep this region strong and sustainable.  Established in 2004, SouthGrow represents twenty-seven communities that are involved in the regional initiative that serves the south central region of Alberta.  Our mission is to encourage regional collaborations, focus on regional economic development and ensure our region has equal opportunity for growth and development within Alberta’s global possibilities.   Our vision is to have a unified, prosperous and sustainable region.  We accomplish this by creating opportunities to accelerate and enhance quality of life, development and sustainability for the communities and stakeholders in the region. 

We have three working committees that spearhead initiatives in order to achieve our goals of creating new economic development opportunities, attracting investment, and encouraging and enhancing opportunities for shared services among communities through collaboration:

Communications and Marketing Committee:

The Communications and Marketing Committee raises awareness of the alliance internally and externally and ensures the region is known as an excellent place to live and do business, resulting in investment and opportunity.

Economic Development and Innovation Committee:

The Economic Development and Innovation Committee identifies economic development and investment attraction opportunities and undertakes joint initiatives in order to realize these. 

Strategic Collaboration Committee:

The Strategic Collaboration Committee develops and builds regional partnerships and provides member communities with learning opportunities to build their capacity.
